If you want to address a young audience, it makes sense to choose a young, enthusiastic voice. I’m often still amazed by children’s spots in which you hear a fifty-year-old male voice. This is without a doubt a conscious choice of the producer. But do children always listen well to their parents or are they completely absorbed in their own world? Is a young and enthusiastic voice not a better match to that world?
Because I am relatively young, I also sound young. I can sound like a big brother. Or I can use a higher voice, making it sound very cheerful and therefore childlike. As you can hear in the examples above, my sound can be quite high. Children’s ears perk up when they hear my convincing voice on well-known children’s channels and they’ll all want to have that particular toy as well.
I’m from the province of Zeeland, but you certainly can’t hear that. Completely accent-free, I can provide various commercials with a young, manly voice from my home studio. And because it may also sound enthusiastic and touting, there is even a bit of voice acting involved.
If you want to hear a preview, you can send me a short briefing of your production, and I will make a voice demo for you, so you can hear if my voice is a good match for your spot.
