Looking for a Dutch Voice Over?

Hi, I’m Sander, a Dutch Voice-Over Artist.
Over 14 years of experience with commercials and videos.

Sander, voice-over

Dutch voice-over

Whether your production should sound very tough, more personal or enthusiastic, it’s no problem for me.

There are 17 million voices in the Netherlands. But who will you put behind the microphone? A youthful male voice is always good for any commercial or web video. Hopefully, you haven’t searched for too long for a Dutch voice to do a Dutch voice-over. I use a youthful, male voice for most of the assignments. I’ve offered my voice for just about every conceivable target group in recent years.

Native Dutch speaker

Do you want me to provide a custom demo in advance or are you in a rush because of a short deadline? Then it’s possible for me to work flexibly, which will benefit the delivery time. Thanks to my studio at home, I can deliver a voice-over recording within a few hours—ideal for a demo or an urgent assignment. My home studio has the best sound quality, in part because of the presence of a voice-over booth.

Voice actor

As a young Dutch voice-over talent, I sound especially fresh and enthusiastic. For example, think of your new commercial or corporate movie. Over the past 10 years, I’ve been able to work for many clients and so I have a lot of experience. I’ve always achieved a good end result, which is effective for the product or service. It’s great that I’m now one of the most-booked voices in the Netherlands. You can even hear me as a voice actor in Flanders and on Curaçao.

Voicing in Amsterdam

I do not charge any extra costs for the use of my home studio, so the recording does not necessarily need to take place in Amsterdam. Aside from that, every recording includes a free correction based on errors in pronunciation. Having a perfect result is the most important for us. Only then will this voice be satisfied.

A good voice-over artist makes all the difference

Looking for a good Dutch voice over? Don’t just settle for the first voice that sounds okay. It’s very important that the voice matches the message you want to express. The voice over intensifies the images of your commercial or video.

Who am I?

My name is Sander and I’ve been working as a professional Dutch voice-over artist for over 14 years now. In my home studio I can record and edit by myself. My voice could be used in your new commercial or video, for example.

Dutch Voice Over

I sit behind the microphone to record various productions daily, and I’ve been able to make this my full-time job, which is great! I use many different voice styles when reading out all these texts, all from my own home studio.

Sometimes, I have to sound very personal; while sometimes, I have to have a friendly pronunciation. At other times, I have to be enthusiastic or very tough. No day is the same as a Dutch voice-over artist.

Tone-of-voice

The principle is always the same: the voice-over has to convey a story to a target group. This may be a very young audience, such as children watching television, but it can also be an older audience; for example, adults who surf the web a little with an iPad on their lap after a day’s work.

The message is always different, which is why I always have a different tone of voice. Apart from the intonation, the emotions are always different, and the tempo can vary. Listen to various examples in my portfolio.

Rates

If you already have a script, you are, of course, curious about my rate for voice recording. This depends on several factors: for example, the length of the text but also whether I am speaking in a commercial or a video. I’m always 100% in-line with the market.

The number of people you intend to reach with it is important. Is it local, regional or even national? Each arrangement has a different competitive price. Isn’t that nice?

What does a voice-over do?

A voice-over gives voice to texts. These can be texts for radio or TV commercials and web videos. But there are also documentary voice-overs and voice-overs for instructional videos. The viewer of the images then listens to the sound of the voice-over while watching the images. You often don’t even realize that you’re listening to a voice-over while watching moving images. That’s how ubiquitous voice-overs are these days.

How do you book a voice-over?

Once you have a script and a good briefing for the text, you start looking for the right voice-over artist. If you’re looking for a male voice, you can listen to examples of my work here. Listen to the demos. If I‘m the right voice-over artist for your project, please feel free to contact me. For a good female voice or voice-actress, you can also contact me or one of my team members. We’ll be happy to refer you.

How do you get voice over assignments?

I receive commissions from various parties. Sometimes from end customers, but also from advertising agencies, sound studios or production companies. Despite the fact that I only record in Dutch, it happens regularly that I work for foreign clients. Over the years, I have built up a good relationship with many clients. They come back regularly and recommend me to others. Of course, you can also register with an agency or casting agency and promote your voice on social media.

What does a voice-over cost?

Professional voice-overs are voice actors. They use their voices for a variety of purposes. It goes without saying that the voice-over rates differ per project. For instance, you pay less for a commentary voice for a company film than for a commercial used for a national TV campaign. Another difference is whether you use voice-overs with just a nice voice or whether you choose for one of the famous Dutch people who do voice-overs. You can find my rates here.

Are you also a voice-over cowboy?

No, definitely not. I take my work very seriously and price gouging is not part of it. With me, you always know where you stand. The rates are reasonable, not the highest and not the lowest, and the quality is always high. So, with me, you’re in the right place for good Dutch voice-overs at a rate that suits you. I wouldn’t do it for less.

Which microphone do you have?

In my home studio, I have a Neumann TLM 103 microphone. It’s mounted in my soundproof recording booth. If you want, you can watch a video of it that I made here. Having my own studio is really ideal. It allows me to move very quickly and deliver excellent quality work in a short time. If the client wishes, I can also work on location. In certain cases, this is actually recommended with regard to cooperation and direction.

Do you also work for free?

No, I do not record free voice-overs. That is a conscious choice that I have made. If I record for free for one company, I have to do the same for others who ask me to. Unfortunately, my busy schedule does not allow me to do this.

Do you also speak in English?

No. I don’t think my English is good enough for voice-overs. The same goes for other popular languages. If you’re going to record voice-overs, I think it’s best to do it in your own language. If you are going to record voice-overs in other languages, then there is a chance that you won’t come across well.

How to become a voice-over?

Practice, practice, practice. I have been practicing for more than 14 years now. I started small and grew bigger and bigger over time. In the meantime, I’ve been getting more and more e-mails requesting me to work on a certain production and I also do my own productions. Look here for more information about me.
